Q. What is Freeview?

A. Must Watch TV for a one-off payment!

It's just one of the reasons 6.4 million homes have chosen FREEVIEW.

You get previews of top comedy and drama on channels like E4, More4 and BBC Three, plus catch-up editions of your favourite soaps & expanded coverage of hit shows on ITV2 and ITV3. Then there's unmissable entertainment on Sky Three dedicated to children's channels and 24/7 rolling news.

Q. What is the Digital Switchover? Digital Tick

All TV in the UK is going digital between 2008 and 2012 in a process called Digital Switchover (one TV region at a time).

Before switchover happens in your area, you'll need to make sure that all your TV equipment is ready to receive digital TV signals.

Look out for the Digital Tick logo on all our Digital-Ready products.

Q. What is HD Ready?

A. The HDTV Logo will signify that a device can receive and process High Definition television signals.

The logo appears on a wide range of LCD/PLASMA TVs that are capable of receiving and processing High Definition television signals broadcast over terrestrial, cable and satellite or pre-recorded. This will include the next generation of set-top boxes, DVD players/recorders and the latest games consoles including Playstation 3 and X-Box 360.

Q. What's the difference between Plasma & LCD?

Both technologies achieve similar things such as crystal-clear, colour-filled pictures and come in very similar designs (i.e. super thin housing).

Based on information gathered from a number of sources, including TV buyer guides and brand websites the following information gives you an indication of what you should be buying, dependant on what screen size you require.

Plasma: Screen sizes range from 37" to 65" and are around 3" deep.

LCD: Screen sizes range from 8" to 40" but larger sizes are coming out soon. Usually slimmer than Plasma at around 2" deep.
